    Big Island of Hawaii
    Rare Hawaiian Kou Wood
    Low land wood, grows near the ocean, usually around 100 feet above sea level. Almost wiped out by moths in the 1800's.
    ~ a favorite of the Hawaiian people, food safe.
    ~ seen as bowls, calabashes and utensils.
    It is a real and rare treat to have Hawaiian Kou in my store...I wish I was a wood workers at times like this.
