The scientific name of Brown Mallee is Eucalyptus dumosa, E. Viridis. This species is widespread in rocky slopes and calcareous flats in Southern and eastern regions in Australia. It is commonly seen in southern areas such as Flinders Ranges, Gawler Range, Eyre Peninsula, and Adelaide Foothills. The size of the tree is up to 16-26 ft and the trunk diameter is one foot. The color of heartwood is generally medium brown. But, sometimes, it has an orange cast. A person can easily demarcate the pale yellow to gray sapwood from heartwood. Brown Mallee is commonly seen in burl form. Some health risks are associated with all types of wood dust. Just like that, some health reactions are also associated with brown mallee. At the same time, several other species that come under Eucalyptus genus case some allergic reactions.
The timber of Brown Mallee is usually available in sawn burl blocks and burl caps. It is not a threatened species, so it is not listed in the IUCN Red List or CITES Appendices.
