Alexander Chernykh played 220 games for Khimik in six seasons over eight years spent with the Soviet Championship club, totalling 56 goals & 47 assists for 103 points.
During his time at Khimik, Chernykh also participated in three consecutive World Junior Championships for the Soviet Union winning Gold in both 1983 and the 1984 tournament in which he led the team in scoring.
Chernykh represented the Soviet Union at the 1988 Winter Olympics in Calgary, scoring 2 goals and 2 assists to help earn the Soviets their 7th Olympic Gold medal championship.
